BLESSED CHRISTMAS!
Calvary Today wishes all Calvarites and friends a Blessed Christmas!
Christmas reminds us of God’s greatest gift to man in the form of Jesus. It was a fulfillment of a promise God made to Israel, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel”. (Isaiah 7:14)
They saw the fulfillment of this promise some 700 years later, “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel – which means ‘God with us’.” (Matthew 1:22)
It may seem an awful long time for God to fulfill His promise but time is relative to God. The important thing to remember is that God keeps His promises.
When we started our quest to re-establish truth, transparency, good governance and accountability in our church, it was not because we had nothing better to do. The Bible teaches us to be good stewards of everything He blesses us with and that includes finances. It is our responsibility to ensure that our church practices good stewardship. We cannot pass the buck to the pastors and deacons alone. God holds us individually equally accountable.
Since our little teh tarik group started before the AGM in March this year, God has, time and again, answered our prayers. Promises have been fulfilled. God never fails.
We are aware that many of you are getting weary after 8 months of enduring the ‘nonsense’ that we have seen or personally experienced in our struggle to see a change in our church. Let us not give up but have faith in God and believe that victory is just round the corner. The Bible says, “ Now faith is the substance of things hope for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Let us all enjoy this Christmas by reflecting on God’s goodness and mercy to us this entire year. We have many things to rejoice and be grateful to God for. So for the next few days, we hope that all of us will set aside our differences and unite in our spirits to celebrate Christmas with Joy. We are dedicating this post for all to put in:
1. A Prayer for the new year.
2. A Christmas greeting
3. A Testimony of God’s blessings and goodness in your lives.
Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This is a testimony written by KC Lim.
Not too long ago, while my simple housewife was driving along the Penchala Link, God showed her the rainbow which ended just in front of her car. (Read her post on 18 October) She had been seeking God about the situation in our church and He answered with that rainbow, giving her the comfort that He will deliver us out of our situation. Rainbow, as you know, is a reminder of His promises.
Last Saturday, while my family and I were flying back from Cairo, where we had been touring, another ‘miracle’ of sorts happened. About an hour or so after our plane took off from Mumbai, India after a short transit, one fellow passenger seated at the window lifted the window shade. Instantly, the beautiful colors of the rainbow flashed across the aisle right in front of my wife who was seated in the middle row. She stretched out her hands and the rainbow colors rested on the palm of her hands. See the photos below.
The phenomenon, regardless of whether it was caused by a natural rainbow across the sky then or something else, is a reminder to her (and to all of us) that indeed, victory is already in our hands. We just have to exercise faith and claim the victory He has promised.
During our trip, we were reminded that God delivered the Israelites out of the land of Egypt, out of slavery into the Promised Land and we were asking God when He is going to deliver us out of the crisis our church is in. My wife, being the more “holy’ one was prayerful throughout the trip and on the plane. And God answered with the rainbow again.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 208 of 208 Newer› Newest»The Lord makes it very clear how one can come to the place where God will not answer:
-Failure to answer when God calls
-Failure to listen to God's counsel
-Despising correction and reproof from God
-Hating God's knowledge
-Showing disrespect and no fear of God
-Turning away from God (backsliding)
-Making prosperity their goal
By doing these things we actually are sowing seeds of rebellion which will produce the fruit of destruction.
In our lives, there comes a time when we will simply reap what we have sown.
The Lord will allow us to have what we want, but with our own way, comes bitter fruit that is our lot also.
However, on the positive side, when we do listen and obey God we are promised to dwell safely and not walk in the fear of evil.
God wants to bless us, but the choice is ours.
We shall reap what we sow.
Prayer for the Day
Father, please give me wisdom in my personal affairs so that I might walk in your blessings and prosperity, that I, in turn, might be able to bless others. Lord, give us wise men in the places of authority to lead us as a nation. May your wisdom be applied in the market places of our land and also to our economic situation at the highest levels. Father, give us wise men to rule over us -- men who will be just and fair in their dealings, men of character. Thank you for teaching us your ways and giving us the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the precious name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
An item could be factual but since the background, details, the why & who & what is not known, no sensible or reasonable conclusion can be made. As such, I have always maintained that much if not all of the "conclusions" posted here are merely heresay, opinions and some (note I said some) are totally wild allegations.
Don't know whether our Auditors have decided/agreed to do the special audit as proposed by Bro Hong Meng - if the answer is yes, then the most apppropriate thing to do (by the TTG - Teh Tarik Group) is to shut down this site for the time being until the findings of the audit is made known. We do not need more of people's (baseless) opinions, heresay and allegations pending the audit findings.
And btw, I noticed selected deletion of comments ... yes? Or perhaps its just the "internet/system".
Yes, why delete?
I agree that CT has lost its purpose, and the content doesn't seem to bring unity and clarity.
Even if there is some truth about it, by the way things are handled here, I seriously doubt whether TTG or CT can ever manage truth? Your works here are exposing how you handle things.
Regarding Faith Promise Sunday. How can anyone especially believers doubt God and cast doubt on those who gave faithfully out of love for God? Isn't it that God that blesses and has given us the privellege to give.
I rejoice that I am able to give and be part of Faith Promise. I am looking forward to this Sunday service and certainly expecting great things from God.
I like to encourage all. I know we are living in difficult times. Trust God, He will provide. God will never short change you.
You may practise the freedom to stop reading this blog.
After years of believing in the church leadership, sacrificial giving and serving, you find out that PG & family have been progressively bleeding CC dry with the help of 1 pastor and the deacons (except Dr. Lum) you won't sit back and smile. We are shocked, we are angry, we feel betrayed, our spiritual foundations are shaken!
We need to grieve: share our hurtful experiences, cry on each others' shoulders, voice our indignations, air our views. All these are healthy. Granted, some may be more dramatic then others.
As to shutting down this blog, only One makes that decision. He and He alone will do so by using the TTG and Dr. Lum mightily to purge CC of these false prophets. When that time comes, then there may be no more need for this blog.
My regards for Dr.Lum has been high and is still high.
When I first read Charles (Jan 8 at 9:15am), I was shocked and suspicious thoughts began to play in my mind and my regards for Dr. Lum was slipping.
But as I continued reading, it dawn on me that this is rubbish coming from a raving mind.
Even though Charles has explicitly wrote "My apologies Dr. Lum.... I'm not saying that you did any of the above, but to give some of the people here some parallel example, I have no choice but to use your name.", such an example is uncalled for and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Isn't this an attempt to cause confusion? Hi readers, Am I speaking out of turn?
Dear Charles, whatever you do or write in future, please use some discernment.
So, all you readers out there, you can see the direction, motives and purpose of Charles' thoughts. Use your discernment when reading his comments or better still scroll down to skip it.
Dr. Lum, after reading the whole of this comment, my respects for you has not wavered one bit.
Concerned Calvarites, do keep your focus on Sunday!
I had proposed that TTG (Teh Tarik Group)temporary shut down this blog if the Auditors have agreed to do the independent review as requested by Bro Hong Meng. It is the most logical thing to do while we wait for the audit findings instead of continuing to post comments (conclusions & allegations) which cannot be supported and by the way, nothing really new. Let the Auditors do their job - if any one has any information (not merely opinion/comments), go directly and provide the Auditors with the same. Also, it is an honourable thing to do on the part of the TTG (Teh Tarik Group) to support the decision of the Auditors.
Hello Bros & Sis in Christ,
It has come to our attention that someone asked why some of the “more matured” Christians have not commented on the “allegations” made on our SP and his family. Some of the parents represented, have been busy getting the children ready for school, Siew Chyuan & KC are off on their business trips and others are preparing to send their children off for studies.
The blog is a little back dated in its postings because many of the team members have been busy with their personal responsibilities over the school holidays. The team however continued to meet every Tuesday (including 6/01/09) to pray. Many of the team members felt the Lord leading us to a place of quietness and waiting upon Him. We also received the Word from the Lord, given through some prayer warrior friends of ours, that now is a time for us to “take up the role of Mary and drop the role of Martha”. We are taking heed to the Word of God given to us and the song in our hearts now is :
Be still and know that I am God X 3
I am the Lord, that healeth thee X 3
At our last Tuesday’s prayer session, we have decided to call for a week of fasting and prayer, starting this Sunday – 11 January 2009. One of our team members is working on a short article to be posted soon, to kick-start the “Fasting and Prayer Week”.
The blog administrators have decided to disable the “comments” for this period of time to concentrate on seeking the Lord for His direction, His wisdom and His intervention into our present saga.
Our God is Good!
